Rise of the Cool Kids Ready to #ROCK

Duru Armagan, proprietress of OTR’s Sloane Boutique on Vine Street, has organized Cincinnati’s first projection fashion show. The event will be held this Saturday at the Bertke Electric Warehouse in Northside. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door. Proceeds will benefit the Lower Price Hill Community School.

The inspiration behind the show is Cincinnati’s growing urban community of creatives. Armagan explains in this Soapbox profile:

Streetwear and street style are becoming such a form of self-expression in our city. Being the owner of a boutique, I am seeing this more and more. People are really showing off their personal styles.

Because most fashion events in the city highlight only high-end or formal looks, we wanted to put something together that highlights everyday wear while incorporating local boutiques and designers.

ROCK represents the rise of the cool kids in Cincinnati. More than ever before we are seeing people staying in the city — opening businesses, starting clothing lines, opening furniture shops, restaurants, salons — the energy is higher than ever. We wanted to celebrate this while doing something different.

ROCK has assembled an impressive list of the Cincinnati’s purveyors of street style including but not limited to the following:
