Looking over these great photos I realize what a wonderful set of crazies we had. I was in the parade and as such didn't see the half of it. Great work Brewery District and Main St. and anyone else who made this celebration a success for beer and sausages.

I was thinking about this during a recent trip to Charleston SC. The crescent and palmetto from their flag are everywhere and it is even a quite a popular decal here in Cincinnati. As I was driving back home I was thinking how Tennessee has a great flag and they really under utilize their circle with the three stars. That would also be a great logo to see all over Tennessee. Then I was thinking about the Cincinnati flag and the C with the buckeye leaves on top and how that could easily be transformed into a great decal/logo that could be used in branding the city. When I got home I quickly found a site from a graphic designer making fake soccer badges and uniforms for a portfolio. The link is here

http://pcgdstudios.com/

I love the way the waves were moved inside the C to make the essence of the flag more easily contained in a small space.

But we do need to increase the use of our flag. I traveled to see UC play Pitt a few years ago and seeing how I didn't have a UC flag, I brought my city of Cincinnati flag to wave and was constantly asked by Cincinnatians what they flag was.

I almost vomited when I saw the image of that lovely wall, the
essence of OTR, with its beautiful porthole windows and that hideous
graphic overlaid. I can't think of anything less appropriate for that
wall. Please put that graphical mural somewhere that needs it. Like the
side of your Justice Center or the new Casino. What are you Cincinnatians thinking?

Although night games played under artificial illumination dated back to the 1880s and were introduced in minor league baseball in the late 1920s, they were initially dismissed as an unwelcome gimmick by the big-league clubs. The first big-league team to play games at night was the 1930 Kansas City Monarchs of the Negro Leagues, who often played against the House of David baseball team, who carried portable lights mounted on trucks along with their team bus. [3][4] The first night game in Major League Baseball history occurred on May 24, 1935 when theCincinnati Reds beat the Philadelphia Phillies 2–1 at Crosley Field.[5] The original plan was that the Reds would play seven night games each season, one against each visiting club.[6] Night baseball quickly found acceptance in other Major League cities and eventually became the norm; the term "day game" was subsequently coined to designate the increasingly rarer afternoon contests.
