Cincinnati Park[ing] Day is Today

Today is Park[ing] Day. Not sure what to expect? Check out these pics from last year’s Park[ing] Day via the 5chw4r7z blog.

Here’s the skinny from Merchants of Main Street and Art on the Streets Cincinnati:

From Austin, Texas to San Juan and in between, people take over metered parking spaces to demonstrate the need for more public space in cities.

Cincinnati has participated for the past five years with community members setting up in the central business district, Over-the-Rhine and Uptown neighborhoods.

This year, we are collaborating with Art on the Streets to turn many spots into stages and galleries — simultaneously illustrating the value of public space and the way serendipitous art experiences animate public places.
